No, You Can’t Build A Bonfire On The Roof Of A Building

At around 1:30 a.m. A call came out out for a fire on the roof of the Thatcher Ave maintenance yard. The person reporting said a man was on the roof adding things to the fire. When police arrived they were also able to clearly see a man working diligently to drag palm fronds and debris on the blaze. Local Fire Dept 63 arrived and put the fire out. It did not fully involve the roof of the building or threaten other structures. The suspect was taken into custody. He was a transient and from what I could hear he sounded drunk. He asked if it was really illegal to start a bonfire. He “does it all the time”. The officer assured him it was illegal.
