On Friday construction crews began removing one lane in each direction on Main St. in Venice to put in bike lanes in either direction between Windward Circle and Marine. Parking will not be impacted, but the road will be re-striped to add a bike lane traveling both ways, and a shared central turn lane in the center. Traffic congestion due to the project is only expected during rush hour. According to a local report, over 700 cyclists use the road during a one hour period.
