Ongoing Spat Between Two Venice Beach Medical Marijuana Clinics Results In Violent Daytime Assault [Graphic]

**UPDATE** Suspect’s bail increased from $30,000 to $90,000. Now in men’s central jail downtown. Next court date Dec 20th.

Reports state that the victim suffered a concussion, broken cheek bone, broken nose, and cuts on face, head and neck.

Correction: The Green Dr. contacted us and said that Mike Song is not a “manager” at their store. We have video and photos of Mike hawking and handing out cards for the Green Dr. and have been told that he is an employee. He was arrested inside the facility by the police. As to his exact role, we are informed that he is not part of the management staff.

(For those who have watched the video, the dog is ok and was physically not harmed)

One of the many Kush Dr. locations on Ocean Front Walk in Venice is just a few doors down from The Green Dr, and the two have had what is described as “ongoing business disputes” for as long as they have been adjacent to one another. On Friday Dec. 2nd, Mike Song, reportedly a manager at The Green Dr. entered the front area of the Kush Dr. where manager Andrew was standing, and proceeded to violently attack and attempt to strangle the victim, unprovoked.

I just happened to be sitting on the bench in front of the area, watching the employees of the Kush Dr. “hawk” customers, which is allegedly against municipal code, while I was waiting for a friend. I had just finished video taping a “hawking session” when the Green Dr. employee approached and just started beating the victim with no verbal warning or altercation. I started taping right away while calling 911 from another phone. Two passers by tried to pull the two apart. The victim looked shocked and disoriented and did not fight back, defending himself only after the two had been separated and the suspect came back towards the victim.

The suspect kept saying that his mom was dead, she committed suicide, and that the victim had called his mom a whore. He also said ” I am going to f*cking kill you “. This was the reason he continued to allege during and after the beating. People familiar with the two clinics said that the two businesses and managers have had an ongoing beef with one another for months. At one point the suspect said he had already done 4 years in prison and didn’t care about going to jail, and waited for police to come. He then changed his mind and fled the scene. The victim stood up and fell down from what looked like the effects of a concussion after the attack. Paramedics arrived and the victim passed out and was taken to the hospital with injuries to his face, head and neck.

The suspect returned a few hours later to The Green Dr. in a change of clothes. Police were called and he was arrested without incident, trying to claim the fight was mutual combat. Song is being held for felony battery with a bail of $30,000.

Video of the entire incident will be posted shortly.

It is no secret that I am NOT a fan of MJ or anything related to it. Just my personal opinion. I am also not a fan of alcohol either. As long as people operate within the law, go ahead and do your thing. I believe the City Attorney is doing the best they can with an overburdened system to do what they can without mishandling cases so they get tossed. The justice system is slow. What frustrates me is that I understand there are several municipal codes that prohibit the sale of “smoking paraphernalia” within a specific distance of a park… and OFW is right on the PARK. Tonight another “bong shop” on the boardwalk was the scene of a crime. Just not a fan of it all… and the senseless violence in this video, for WHATEVER reason… no neighborhood needs it.

I agree totally! Guess his mother didn’t teach him that. Dude is psychotic and should sit in jail to think “was it all worth it’? Green Doctor’s have violent criminals on their staff. And to think people go in there daily getting taking advantage of.

Dear to whom it may concern,

1st You are a person who just saw what happened at that very moment…(To the lady who filmed it all).

2ed You don’t know what has been going on and how it all started.

3rd Its the victum’s (if you want to call him that) fault! He shouldn’t say what he said, but he started the whole fight from the beginning! I don’t feel sorry for the guy with the bloody face at all. He got what he deserved!

Hey man, you are right I only saw what happened at that moment. Either way, felony battery is felony battery…. everyone has their own way of expressing their emotions. Some within the law, some outside of the law. Personally I am in the “sticks and stones” crowd and don’t think beating the crap out of someone solves anything, especially when it lands you in jail. To each his own…

    I so agree with you!
