On November 22, 2011 at approximately 10:25 AM, LAPD Pacific Division officers arrested a burglary suspect who was observed attempting to enter into a residence on the 7500 block of 88th St.
The suspect entered into the victim’s back yard through the side gate. Once inside the back yard, he attempted to enter into the residence through the rear door which was locked. The victim who was inside the residence at the time was alerted by the sound of her dog barking. As she went to see why the dog was barking, she screamed as she saw the suspect attempting to enter into the residence. The suspect then fled out onto 88th St.
Officers who were in the area quickly made their way to 88th St. where they saw the suspect attempting to flee on foot. Officers we immediately able to detain the suspect. The suspect was arrested after the victim was able to positively identify the suspect as the person who was was attempting to enter into their house.
LAPD would like to remind you that residential Burglaries similar to this occur every day. You can help reduce your chances of being a victim of one of these crimes by being diligent about locking and securing your residences and vehicles. Also remember to never leave valuables or bags in your vehicles, especially in plain sight and to report suspicious activity to the police.
