“NO PARKING” Signs On Private Property Being Switched By Tow Companies Without Knowledge Of Homeowners

With the often scarce parking in Venice, many home owners have the very necessary “NO PARKING” signs on their property and garage doors with the name of a tow company, to prevent people from parking on their property or in front of their garage doors.

A new scandal has heated up this week, with tow company South Side Tow removing signs from other tow companies on private property, and putting up their own. Of course, most people don’t notices the signs other than to make sure it is there… but this shifty trick is not only vandalism when performed on private property, but with this particular tow company it adds complications.South Side Tow closes Friday evening and does not open again until Monday for retrieval of cars. So if a car is towed over the weekend the owner of the car can’t get it out until South Side opens on Monday morning. Bruffy’s Tow, who most home owners use in the Venice / Marina area are open 24/7. Several complaints have come in from home owners who have had their Bruffy’s signs removed, and replaced with South Side Tow signs without permission.

If you have “NO PARKING” signs on your property, check them and make sure they are from the company you normally contract from, and not a tow service trying to poach your business without you knowing about it.
