Venice Chamber Of Commerce Update For The Triathalon And Abbot Kinney Festival!

The good folks at the Venice Chamber of Commerce sent the following fabulous info out a bit ago:

The Los Angeles Triathlon is this Sunday, 9/25 beginning at 6:30 am with the swim segment. The bike portion will be on Venice Blvd. from the beach to the 10 freeway. The only detour will be the 405 freeway.

Click here for more information and a course map. Although, organizers officially estimate that Venice Blvd. will be open about 11:00 am, earlier access is a possibility.

Abbot Kinney Blvd. will also be closed on Sunday because of the Abbot Kinney Festival. The Venice Chamber will be at Booth location 576, just north of Milwood on the West side of the street.

In addition to the KidsQuad, this year’s festival includes up to 400 arts & craft exhibitors, three live music stages, Whole Foods Market Green Scene, two bike valet stations, three food courts, and two beer gardens. All complement the eclectic mix of over 100 boutiques, coffee houses, restaurants, salons, art galleries, and nightclubs located along the famed Abbot Kinney Boulevard, stretching nearly one mile from Venice Blvd. to Main Street.

Please be sure to stop by and say hello to the Venice Chamber of Commerce Folks!

The Department of Transportation officially says:

The Department of Transportation will be aggressively enforcing all temporary parking restrictions for this event to secure the safety of the participants and to facilitate the movement of traffic around road closures. Typical vehicle recovery costs are in excess of $130, which does not include the $60 citation fee. Below you will see a Department of Transportation map that shows the triathlon course and approximate closure and opening times.
