TODAY! Get A Free Reusable Shopping Bag From The LA Dept Of Public Works!

GIVEAWAY EVENTS TEACH SHOPPERS ‘ABOUT THE BAG’

LA County Public Works staff will visit local supermarkets between now and June 30 to hand out free, reusable shopping bags to customers.
The bag giveaway events are part of Public Works’ extensive outreach campaign in advance of a July 1 ban on single-use plastic bags in all large stores in unincorporated county areas. Shoppers are reminded to bring their reusable bags when they shop to avoid a 10 cent charge for paper bags. Several major grocery store chains have partnered with Public Works in the outreach campaign and will also give away their own reusable bags during the events.

The free giveaways and outreach campaign will continue through June 30. Residents can learn more about the single-use plastic bag ban and find details of additional in-store give-away events at www.aboutthebag.com.

Reusable bag giveaways begin at 10:00 AM for all events listed below. Quantities are limited.
