On Saturday The LA Chapter of the Guardian Angels came to Venice to meet with us and walk to boardwalk to get an idea of challenges residents and visitors face when they try to enjoy Venice.
As always, when we see nefarious activity we report it to LAPD. While there is always an abundance of things to report, we came upon a group of men selling pit bull puppies. All animal sales has always been illegal on the boardwalk and in the park, and it is a dangerous way to acquire pets. The poor puppies were not healthy. LAPD responded, wrote hefty tickets to the owners and impounded the dogs to animal control to be spayed and neutered. The owners can pick up the dogs after paying for the surgeries and licenses as required by law.
