NiteSpa on Santa Clara and Abbot Kinney was burglarized at 5 a.m. this morning. Thieves broke in for a second time in a few short weeks. The broke a front window and stole bags and items from inside the store. The manager told us that thieves sawed off a branch on one of their trees to steal a swing, their sign has been stolen, and literally everything that isn’t nailed down, sometimes in daylight hours while they are open for business.
It seems that there has been a rash of burglaries from local businesses lately. While in general Venice is quite safe, part of our beach lifestyle that includes large windows to let in light, and leaving windows open provide ample opportunities for criminals.
