After even a light rain, many areas on Speedway, just a half of one block from the beach flood to a point that impedes pedestrian traffic through the alley. The City of Los Angeles began construction Feb 1st on a two week project to repave two areas near the area of Speedway and Washington and install new fluid exit drains. The new cement areas in the road will divert water into two new large drains. This will temporarily divert traffic down speedway during phases of the construction.
