
UPDATE 9:55 p.m. Victim is now listed in stable condition. Originally the radio call came out that the victim was a male black, but both the victim and the shooter were male Hispanics. The shooter was on a bike, but fled on foot leaving his bike and a shoe behind. Both were taken into evidence. An LAPD bloodhound was brought out by the Metro Division and he followed the scent of the shoe all the way to the park where the suspect was last seen before losing the scent.
Tonight at approximately 5:15 p.m. a male black was shot in the upper chest in the alley at 7th and Rose Ave in Venice. The suspect fled north on 7th towards Santa Monica. Described as a male Hispanic in a dark hoodie, blue jeans with one shoe. Suspect arrived on bike but fled on foot. At this time the victim is in critical condition and by the sounds of it, the outlook does not sound promising.
LAPD is locking down the ENTIRE area from Rose, Ruth, Dewey and Ozone all the way to park. No in. No out until the scene is clear.

It seems that gangs are more active now. Hope the police too.
