Burglary and thefts have increased in Pacific Area this week.

Many of these crimes are preventable.

When a criminal gets away with a crime, he/she generally returns to the same area to strike again. Especially if they believe they can obtain easy access via unlocked doors and windows.

Due to recent burglaries and thefts, here are some areas that are considered as potential targets:

Everyday, many criminals easily open unlocked doors and windows and wonder right inside the homes of:

* Families eating breakfast, lunch or dinner

Burglary From Single Family Homes in Pacific (Under Construction)


There has been NINE Construction Site Burglaries from January 4 to 28 (24-day period) in Pacific Area. (Particularly Basic Car’s 14A27, 14A25, 14A67 & 14A73)

At end of workday, construction company working on single-family residence placed tools in connex container, the garage, or in residence. Unkn suspect entered property or cut chain fence,
and removed tools. No suspects seen.

Most occurred beween Centinela and Overland (from 10 Fwy to Venice Blvd) (A25 & A27). Two also occurred in Westchester (Sepulveda & 80th St vicinity, RD 1467 & 1476).

Nearly all occurred on weeknights (Tuesday and Wednesday evenings to the following day are the HOT Nights.)

Suggested Community Strategies—

Familiarize residences under construction, place close attention to them if you see anyone lurking around them. DO NOT APPROACH anyone who seems to be committing a crime or that looks suspicious. CRITICAL MISSING - 14 YEAR OLD GIRL MISSSING FROM THE PACIFIC AREA OF LAPD. BE ON ALERT

14-year-old Missing Girl May be Traveling to North Carolina or Georgia

Los Angeles: The family of Lauren Jackson and the Los Angeles Police Department are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the 14-year-old.

On January 29, 2015, around 5:30 p.m., Lauren Jackson left her family home in the 6700 block of 88th Street in the city of Westchester. Her family is concerned for her welfare due to her young age.

Lauren Jackson is described as a 14-year-old female Black, with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs approximately 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, blue jeans jacket, converse shoes.
