A Culver City man was charged today with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl while he kept her in his home over a three-week period, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Samuel Robert Duran Jr. (dob 8/19/81) is scheduled to be arraigned today at the Airport Branch of the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Department 144. Prosecutors will ask that his bail be set at $14.4 million.

Deputy District Attorney Damaré Theriot with the Sex Crimes Division is prosecuting the case.

Duran is charged in case SA090204 with a dozen counts, including three counts of rape, six counts of forced oral copulation and three counts of forced digital penetration. The complaint includes allegations of tying and binding. The incidents allegedly occurred between March 25 and April 13.

The girl disappeared from her Mar Vista home on March 24. She was rescued on Monday by LAPD officers after she made a phone call for help that was traced to Duran’s home.

If convicted, Duran faces up to life in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
