For the past several weeks, you could even stretch it to months - people in Oakwood and adjacent areas have woken to find their car windshields and windows smashed. I was listening to the scanner last Saturday, when a report came in for a guy walking down Main St. at Rose, just smashing in windshields. Folks did their best to follow him but he fled down an alley and got away.
Last night, he didn’t.
At 4 a.m. this morning LAPD Pacific Division arrested a male black said to be mid 30’s to 40’s, a local gang member, for the crimes. According to veteran beach supervisor and experienced Pacific Division Sergeant Suarez, detectives have been able to attach the suspect to several incidents over the past few weeks, including the crimes that happened last night.
That’s the great thing about this one particular local gang, they love the F up and rip off their own neighborhood.
