Every once in a while, a miracle happens. As a Scandinavian I do not shy away from baked goods. Finding exceptional baked goods however is not always easy. While riding down Speedway the normal stench was interrupted by the warm, comforting smell of bread. The manager of The Venice Beach Hotel told me, “oh that is the new bakery, and the smell is the cheddar bacon scone”.
Sold.
I paid my first visit yesterday to this lovely, clean, professional bakery. Chef on hand busily guiding others as a fresh batch of quiche came out of the kitchen. Aside from the staple advanced array of coffee drinks, the bakery is full of breads and desserts. And if that isn’t enough to ring your bell they make shakes and have a lovely array of ice cream too. Snapped a photo of the menu which is attached. The coffee was great, the food is baked in the building… And to quote the happy staffer she said, “we aren’t going anywhere - we are here for the long haul”.
Well then, welcome to Venice California Coast Cafe. I think we’ll be great friends.

it seems very brave for someone to open a business (that’s not a head shop) on OFW. i hope they’re prepared for ODs in their doorway and harassment of their staff and customers. good luck!

Thank you 311 for the recommendation Ingrid and I had breakfast there this morning……as you said it is wonderful to have fresh baked breads on the Boardwalk. The Owner and Chef were delighted when Ingrid showed your post that went to our FB page. They were so happy the complementary Breakfast Sandwich (poached egg on fresh bread, gruyere cheese, and prosciutto (croque monsier))……..
