Parking On The Street Near Abbot Kinney Is Not Breaking The Law

Look, people do all kinds of shifty bullshit, but parking in a street parking space is not illegal. Street parking spaces aren’t for the entitled, they are there for anyone to park in on the age-old who gets it first basis. Why focus your anger on someone legally parking and going to WORK? Enjoy the success and growth of the area as it increases property values 2-3-4x.

I’m a Venice resident without my own parking space. I love that Venice doesn’t have permit-parking like West Hollywood and other places. Permit Parking is fascist. First come first serve. Most homeowners have driveways. If you’re hear paying rent like me, you can’t really act all entitled.

Since this parking ordnance hasn’t been sanctioned by the city of Los Angeles. Do you think the resident parking enforcement will have identifiable uniforms ” like clown suits”

I find it amazing that there was a big to-do about restricting parking for those out of work, living in their cars-yet these same people are the ones bitching about businesses for not providing parking for their employees and customers (ie. Those who have jobs and those who pay to be here). the current trend by lupc and vnc of making parking the responsibility of only businesses is beyond me. Residents who live in old buildings which provides no parking and then bitch about having to look for parking spot have had it too good for too long. Its high time THEY get charged for parking on the streets, taking away valuable parking for those who work, don’t work and those who wanting coastal access. Parking is not a right. If they don’t like looking for parking ..take the bus. Otherwise, they need to be charged heavily for blocking parking for everybody else who have equal right to to park here. Pay up!! (Bet they wished they voted for opds now!! But poor peggy lee kennedy…where would she live?)
