The City Council voted today 14-0 to ban Segways and motorized scooters on Ocean Front Walk in Venice. A year ago B. Duffy, the owner of Seahorse clothing was struck and injured by a woman on a segway. She required hip surgery and the loss of work and the injury led to her story going out of business after many years on Ocean Front Walk. The burning question is, when the cops enforce so little already that has to do with safety and quality of life on the boardwalk…. what is the point? We need the laws enforced… now including another new one.
