One of the top rated pepper spray devices. One reviewer wrote, “I have used the Sabre pepper spray for a couple years now, and I love it! I like the way it will fire with a quick flip of the thumb. I enjoy running in the dark, and I have been attacked by a couple dogs. Now, I carry the Sabre spray and have had occasion to use it. Protect Your Home From Burglary

LAPD Pacific Area wants you to be an informed resident of our community. The Pacific Area, like others in Los Angeles, is subject to residential burglaries. Suspects concentrate their efforts on private homes or apartments that are easy targets. Very often, suspects will simply gain entry to your property through unlocked doors or windows.

Take the following precautions:

  • ALWAYS lock your doors and WINDOWS before leaving your residence.
  • Remove advertisements from your front porch or door as quickly as possible. An accumulation of these items may indicate that no one is home.
  • Pick up your newspapers and mail daily
  • Motion detector lights strategically located around your home are a good deterrent in the evening.
  • A monitored alarm system is a good safeguard
  • If you have a fence around your property, keep your gates locked
  • If you will be away for an extended period of time:
  • Stop newspaper and mail delivery
  • Set timers in your home for lights and a radio or television to go on and off intermittently at the times when they would normally go on and off- suspects that normally prowl your neighborhood know your habits.
  • Let trusted neighbors know when you are leaving and when you will return.

Trespass Arrest Authorization Letter

One way to ensure your property is protected is to post “NO TRESPASSING” signs in appropriate areas. Many property owners in Venice have learned that when someone parks and blocks their own garage door, if they do not have a proper sign stating that it is private parking with the name of the tow company… the vehicle can not be towed.

It is a good practice to make sure you have “NO TRESPASSING” signs posted on your property. Equally important, you should fill out a Trespass Arrest Authorization Letter and submit it to LAPD.
