VENICE (CBSLA.com) — Councilmember Mike Bonin Friday is expected to announce a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for murdering a 24-year-old father.

Guillermo Carmona-Perez was found lying in the street stabbed in the chest around 12:15 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Pacific Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police believe Perez, who worked two jobs as a cook, left work, stopped for a pack of beer and was walking down Washington Boulevard towards his home at the time of the attack.

He was transferred to UCLA Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
