UPDATE: Danny Gaudio, 55, a suspect in a bank robberies that occurred on March 29 in the 3300 block of Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach, and another in Pacific Palisades on April 17th was arrested last night.
@CulverCity311 noticed activity last night regarding the suspects vehicle located at the Encore Motel on Washington Blvd. The FBI was dispatched to the location where the suspects car was found. The hotel manager stated that the owner of that car was staying at the motel. He used a handgun in all bank robberies.
Also known as the “beach cruiser bandit”, because he would depart the robberies on a beach cruiser… someone apparently recognized him at a local PitFire Pizza on Washington Blvd and called police.
A man believed to be responsible for two bank robberies may be in the Venice area per a recent LAPD police broadcast. The suspect is a male white, 35-45 and is armed with a black handgun. He demanded money verbally and got away with $2000 from the Pacific Western Bank at 15310 W Sunset Blvd in Pacific Palisades today. He reportedly fled the scene on a bike, but now is reported to be in a 2012-2013 Black Buick Encore with plates that don’t match the vehicle registration.
The initial crime broadcast said he had a distinctive “widows peak” hairline, other reports describe a receding hairline. Either way his hairline sounds distinctive. Unlike internet descriptions of “cold plate” the LAPD reference is when plates do not match the vehicle… rather than exempt or law enforcement plates. More information when we get it. Be on the lookout for the suspect/vehicle – if you believe you see him do not approach and call 911.
