At around 10:45 a call came out to LAPD that a male black with a gun had just assaulted someone at The Terrace restaurant on Washington and they needed an ambulance… and that the suspect was still inside the location. When police arrived the suspect had fled, the victim needed treatment… and the robber had made off with $35,000. His description is a male black, 36 5’8″ 220 lbs wearing a light blue shirt… fled northbound on Speedway.
UPDATE: Fellow twitter follower notes the victim was a person in the restaurant claiming they had that much cash on them. We also got word that the person that was allegedly robbed is “still” at the bar drinking. Whole thing sounds pretty sketchy. Information from those at scene said police were unable to substantiate much beyond a possible fight where alcohol was involved.

What happened to Venice311? This use to be such a great source of crime info for us Venetians. I don’t want to see the crime tweets from Culver City, South Central,etc. Can’t we keep the information that pertains only to Venice?
So I guess you get mad at the grocery store for carrying food that you aren’t necessarily interested in eating? You don’t get any less Venice info, and we aren’t in jail here… many of us work, travel and have occasional interest in what happens in other areas of the city at times. They ask, they share, we share…chill out. I am always astonished at people complaining that they read something that doesn’t interest them, especially when our content is so brief.
