Abbot Kinney Fest Call For Artwork Submissions For The Official Poster!

VENICE, CA (March 6, 2013) — The Abbot Kinney Festival Association (AKFA) is accepting artwork submissions now through Monday, April 8th for consideration to be selected as the Official Poster of the 29th  Annual Abbot Kinney Festival, to be held on Sunday, September 29, 2013, 10 AM to 6 PM. Founded and organized by the AKFA, this popular community event showcases the best of Venice, California and what makes it so unique. It features over 300 arts & crafts exhibitors, live music stages, and fun activities for the entire family.

For the past two years, we have been fortunate to have our artwork be produced by a local artist right off Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Topo Ranch’s Dani Kump.  In 2011 we pre-sold the AK festival t-shirts with Dani’s image and successfully sold out.  We would love to see this Venice-based contribution continue.  Visual artists and graphic designers are invited to submit their innovative and visually compelling artwork designed as a 11”x17” poster to promote the annual festival, feature the creativity of its residents, celebrate the community of Venice today, commemorate its colorful past. In addition, the chosen artwork may be incorporated into the marketing personality for this year’s event, in whole or in part, through selected promotional materials.

The creator of the artwork selected as the Official Poster will win a cash prize of $500 and citywide exposure.  All artwork submissions will be posted online for viewing and all creators will be invited to display their original artwork submissions at the festival in a designated area. To request more information email or call (310) 396-3772.

DEADLINE for artwork submissions is Monday, April 8, 2013.
