A reported traffic accident involving a vehicle vs. pedestrian happened around 6 pm this evening. Right now Venice Blvd Eastbound is closed at Centinela and westbound traffic is being diverted through the Mitsuwa parking lot. RMG news sent us pix and info (thanks Sam!) and it is reportedly a total clusterf*ck. One of our twitter followers BF gave the victim CPR before the paramedics came. THANK YOU BF for knowing and applying CPR!

I made it through the intersection around 6:15 or so. The creepiest detail was a shoe, one shoe, in the street with a chalk circle drawn around it. Palms east was a mess with all the diverted traffic. Has anyone heard the outcome?
Unfortunately word is the pedestrian died after being transported to the hospital.
Did they really have divert the traffic thru a parking lot? Really?
They didn’t divert traffic through a parking lot, they diverted onto Ocean View. Most drivers opted to go through the parking lot, just playing follow the leader.
Update — it’s still a clusterf–k. Hope the pedestrian ends up OK.

The traffic was coming up Ocean View to Charnock until about 10PM (busses included) until they reopened Venice Boulevard
