Today I got this awesome tweet from some neighbors on Thornton..

So I zipped on over on my iZip, where another nice neighbor was standing by. The cormorant looked extra super skinny and didn’t put up much fight which tells me he isn’t eating and is really tired. Being trained in marine mammal and sea bird rescue, I safely contained the bird and took him to the main Lifeguard station. Normally I would drive him to the marine bird sanctuary in San Pedro but I am too busy today… so I left the little bugger with the lifeguards who called Animal Regulations. They will make sure he gets down to rehab! He still had some feist in him and tagged my hand, which shows you how sharp their beaks are even through a bag and a towel!
If you EVER see a seal, sea lion or elephant seal on the beach call 1-800-39-WHALE. Put it in your cell phone now! Peter Wallerstien is a marine animal expert and does local rescue! You can also call him for marine birds as well. I called him today but he was too busy with other rescues.
Thanks awesome twitter neighbors!
