310 Mildred – The Party Is Over

Sunday marked a turbulent end to the evicted tenant at 310 Mildred. Amidst the noisy move-out – at one point Sunday neighbors heard Mr. Ucci announce “demolition begins in five minutes”, followed by obnoxiously loud banging from he and his crew ripping the roof off the house. LAPD arrived and informed Mr. Ucci that he was not to destroy the premises, he was to take his items and leave. He said he was just taking the wood from the work he had done (without permission or permits). LAPD waited for him to remove his tools from the roof, and he was gone a few hours later. A myriad of new felony charges will now be pending against Mr. Ucci based on the condition of the home, and what is missing.

The property will be cleaned and boarded this week. The city has officially condemned it. Neighbors will continue to keep a watchful eye on it until the whole situation is resolved.

Take a look at craftsman Ucci’s handywork. Unbelievable.

The outdoor patio area.

What was the living room and kitchen.

What was the master bathroom. This was his entrance to the roof, which was boarded when he was told never to go on the roof again. He just tore the roof open and kept going up there anyway.

  2. It’s just so sad to see what they’ve managed to do to this adorabel place….

  3. OUTSTANDING!!!! way to take back your neighborhood Venice. To Venice311- thank you for all you do, the support and efforts you have given to the Mildred neighborhood is commendable and I just want to personally thank you, you are what community base policing is all about.

    • Officer Thusing, I wholeheartedly second that! Venice311 was focused and unwavering and was instrumental in seeing this through. I also want to say thank you to the owner of 310 Mildred, LAPD (especially you), the City Attorney’s office, some people from Bill Rosendahl’s office, Department of Building & Safety, LADWP, neighbors, and other people who don’t want to be mentioned who used their personal resources (including time and money) to make this happen. Something good has definitely come from this. I’ve gotten to know more of my neighbors and have a stronger sense of community. I’m already hoping that our next neighbor at 310 Mildred will be a Buddhist monk with an aversion for power tools, elder abuse, domestic violence, drugs, fighting, cursing, housing people with outstanding warrants, building raging bonfires in a small firepit at all hours of the night, hammering after 8pm (consruction in general), and stealing utilities. Please feel free to let me know if I forgot anything.
