So, the opponents to the zip line were heard, and the Board of Public Works approved it anyway. Problem is, as happens in Venice, is all the hubaloo basically was too much of a kick in the knee to the people who want to put on the zip line for this Summer. They sought to get the project up right away and take advantage of the Summer crowds and season… which will be gone by the time the Coastal Commission weighs in. If the Coastal Commish approves it – word is they will go for the 3 month zip line “test” next Summer. Thanks to @richie_duchon for the info!

But the Coastal Commission can still turn this awful thing down … that Councilman Rosendahl pushed for anything that would downgrade the beautiful ocean view is outrageous and pushing this through without an impact study for traffic, parking, restroom availability (almost none) and security is really vainglorious. The restrooms, the few public ones, are not enough for the estimated extra 400 people.
Horrible.
I’m with you lady. I think its crap. Keep your fingers crossed.
